Is Your Client on Medicare? Proposed Rule will Affect Section 111 Reporting
Sage Settlement Consulting

Today's Federal Register included a Proposed Rule from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding Civil Monetary Penalties for Responsible Reporting Entities. Translation: CMS is nailing down how to calculate financial penalties for those who do not comply with Medicare Secondary Payer requirements. Penalties can be as much as $1000 per day per beneficiary.

Don't guess when it comes to compliance. If your injured client is currently receiving Medicare or will become Medicare-eligible in the near future, then it's time to make a plan. With local offices across the country, our settlement consultants work hand-in-hand with national leaders in Medicare Set-Aside services. Additional information regarding the Proposed Rule can be found on CMS' fact sheet. Full details can be found in today's Federal Register
