Susan started her career in structured settlements in 2000. Susan has extensive working with all parties involved in the settlement process. She focuses on creating meaningful settlement plans for claimants and their families which address their specific needs and concerns. She has experience with multiple types of cases including medical malpractice, workers' compensation and Medicare Set-Asides, sexual molestation, deferred attorney's fees, employment litigation—including discrimination and sexual harassment claims, wrongful imprisonment cases and installment business sales and other types of non-qualified structured settlements. She enjoys creating and presenting CLE courses for law firms and trial lawyers associations.
Prior to joining Millennium Settlements (now Sage Settlement Consulting), Susan worked at EPS Settlements Group, Allstate Financial in the Structured Settlements Department and at CNA in its Structured Settlements Department. Susan earned the distinguished Certified Structured Settlement Consultant designation through the NSSTA program developed in conjunction with the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business Executive Education Program in 2002. She currently sits on NSSTA’s Board of Directors and serves as the Board Liaison to its Marketing Committee. She has her life/health and fire/casualty insurance licenses since 2000 in most states.
Susan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with Honors in 1993 from Wayne State College and attended the University of Nebraska Medical School for graduate studies in Pharmacology. Susan resides in Austin, Texas with her husband, Brad and son, Alek. In her spare time, Susan is an avid runner and cyclist who participates in marathons and endurance cycling events to raise money for cancer research and survivors.
