Naomi Harvey has long been an outspoken advocate for individuals and families with disabilities. As the child of a parent born with a severe disability, Naomi witnessed the potential devastation that can occur when legal and financial planning is done incorrectly. After a severe car accident in 2003 left her mother with lifelong physical injuries, Naomi moved from patient education in the medical field to financial planning. She was determined to reinvent common day "financial literacy" and provide families with an honest financial education. In both her private practice and her work within the legal community, Naomi keeps the "white noise" created by a sales pitch away from her clients, helping them to view financial strategies objectively. She believes the right path for a specific client will reveal itself, improve their financial position, and ultimately their quality of life.
Through her work at Sage Settlement Consulting, Naomi focuses on governmental benefit integration and settlement planning for personal injury victims and their attorneys. In this capacity, she serves as an expert resource for attorneys, court-appointed representatives, and strategic partners within the personal injury field. She provides succinct advice to clients on private and public benefits, trusts, and financial planning strategies customized to meet the unique needs of the injured person and their family. Naomi specializes in minor settlement cases, class action, mass tort, incapacitated adult cases, as well as trust and structured settlement strategies for both the injured party and attorney.
Naomi is an experienced international professional speaker, regularly called to speak in her community, as well as within the legal and financial fields on a variety of topics. She has spoken to audiences ranging in size from 15 attendees to 7,000+. Her topics include ethical planning, legal issues involving the financial industry, trust funding techniques, special needs issues, and the effects of the changing financial landscape on client behavior.
Naomi Harvey is a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA) and has served on the Financial Literacy Committee sponsored by the FDIC & AALU. She is also a volunteer financial planner for the ALS clinic at Methodist Neurological Institute in Houston Texas, holds her Series 7 and 66 licenses, and is a designated and practicing Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). Central to everything she does, Naomi is a proud mother to her daughter, Alyssa.
